In a 9-4 vote, the UNC Board of Trustees voted at special meeting in closed session Wednesday afternoon (a standard practice for personnel matters) to grant tenure for Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones. “This is an important day for our campus. Professor Hannah-Jones will add great value to our university.”
Nikole Hannah-Jones said she needs “to take some time to process all that has occurred and determine what is the best way forward.”
