Please read the following information closely before registering for this course.

Overall Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be introduced to the field of narrative medicine and its pedagogical applications in pre-clinical, clinical, and health humanities educational arenas.

2. Participants will engage with scholars of narrative medicine and grapple with ideas of anti-racism, social justice, and interprofessionalism followed by a narrative medicine self-reflective workshop.

3. Participants will leave this workshop series with tools for applying narrative medicine to their current clinical practice and teaching, with a specific focus on furthering socially just, anti-racist medical education.

In addition to receiving a robust curriculum on anti-racism and social justice tailored for medical educators, participants who attend all 4 sessions and complete questionnaires will receive a certificate of completion from the Academy of Educators in partnership with Columbia University’s Division of Narrative Medicine. Certificates will be both electronically and physically mailed to participants.
