Black graduate students – IME: Virtual Black Grad Collective

March 15, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Many of you will remember the session that was organized for Black graduate students and UNC’s campus leadership during Fall 2020 semester. From that conversation, a report was generated where leadership answered a host of questions generated by the students in attendance.

A consistent theme generated from this session from students was the need/desire to engage with leadership on a regular basis. We agree feel this is a great way to stay in touch with current issues important to students as well a way to create tangible change. While some of this change (as we discussed in the post-meeting report) may be slow, we want to stay engaged with students in order to be held accountable and to make sure your voices remain heard and relevant as we work towards a more inclusive and equitable racial climate at UNC.

Let’s do this together! At this meeting, we will have a casual yet candid conversation with The Graduate School’s  Suzanne Barbour, Dean & Kate McAnulty, Associate Dean for Student Affairs. We’ll discuss the report and determine the most feasible path forward together.

Registration required.
