Rising Star Seminar – Zoom

Our final seminar before the summer is part of the School of Medicine Rising Stars program, and it will be on zoom. This program helps future faculty prepare for academic job interviews in addition to bringing more science to share. Our speaker on May 27th is Juan Carvajal Garcia who earned his PhD here at UNC and co-mentored by Dale Ramsden and Jeff Sekelsky. He is currently a postdoctoral scholar at Vanderbilt with Houra Merrikh studying mutagenesis and antibiotic responses in bacteria. His most recent papers are PMID: 38911259, PMID: 37364106 ,and PMID: 37968395.     The title of his seminar is ” Mechanism and Inhibition of Antibiotic Resistance Evolution”
