Seminar: Shahar Sukenik
October 29 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Talk Title: “Protein Dynamics in a Changing Environment: From Sensitivity to Tolerance” by Shahar Sukenik, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biophysical Chemistry, Syracuse University. Host: Rebecca Berlow
Dr. Shahar Sukenik has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Illinois at Urbana. He’s currently Assistant Professor of Biophysical Chemistry at Syracuse University. Previously he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and
Chemical Biology at the University of California, Merced. Dr. Sukenik’s research interests include protein biophysics, intrinsically disordered proteins, and environmental stress. His research seeks to understand the interplay between the proteins that make our cells work and the environment that surrounds them. His lab uses a multidisciplinary approach, combining live-cell microscopy, high-throughput experimental methods, and biophysical characterization of
intrinsically disordered proteins.
