SOLAR ECLIPSE VIEWING PARTY

August 21, 2017 @ 1:15 pm - 2:45 pm

The Biochemistry and Biophysics department gathered together to view the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 with cereal box projectors and protective eclipse glasses. The moon blotted out 93% of the sun. Monday’s eclipse was the first one since 1918 that traveled across the United States.

Solar eclipse glasses were all in fashion as the crowds gathered on the lawn in front of the Genetic Medicine Building on the afternoon of August 21, 2017. Beginning at 1:15pm staff, faculty and students gathered for food and Loco-pops, assembled viewer construction boxes. The crowd cheered at 2:43pm, when the skies darkened.
