UNC SCC Biology: screening of Can We Talk?

SSC is proud to partner with Joel Kingsolver to screen the documentary Can We Talk? 2 for the UNC Biology Dept., as showcased at the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology conference this year. In her Can We Talk series, Dr. Kendall Moore (URI) has difficult conversations with people of color in the sciences. In this second installment, conversations center around white allyship. Can We Talk 2 masterfully intertwines the interviews of both people of color and white folks in the sciences to unpack the complicated question of how to do right by colleagues, mentees, and students of color.
We hope you’ll join us for a viewing and discussion on how we can foster proactive white allyship in our department, next Friday, February 12th from 3:30-5.
