On May 26, Dr. Stephanie Brown, Director of Strategic Initiatives, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at SOM, visited BCBP and held a training session on Understanding and Navigating Microaggressions.
This training has explored the concept of microaggressions, explained important terminology related to microaggressions, and discussed some of the reasons that microaggressions can be challenging to identify and address. Attendees worked in small groups to analyze specific examples of microaggressions and discussed approaches to handle these situations.The training was overwhelmingly received by the department. 73 BCBP members, including faculty, staff, research associates, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students, have attended the training.
