Jamie DeSoto joined the department in 2015 as the executive assistant to Leslie Parise, Ph.D., Chair of Biochemistry and Biophysics and Chair of Faculty. She was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. She also lived in Phoenix and Seattle before moving to the Triangle in 2008.
In her free time Jamie likes to volunteer as a referral associate at the Compass Center for Women and families. You can also find her at various events as a representative for SAFE Haven for Cats. Her creative outlet is photography and architecture. Jamie enjoys travel, attending performances in the arts, and baseball games. Her new year’s resolution is teach herself how to bake specialty breads.
