Graduate student Alex Stutzman in Dowen & McKay lab was interviewed for the “Lighting a Spark” feature story in the Jan/Feb issue of Diversity in Action on Page 41 She emphasizes how important it is for geneticists to be careful and intentional with their language and interpretations around studies of ethnicity and race.  Alex has lead efforts that promote diversity in science, including providing resources, networking opportunities and programming.  We are so inspired by your work to make science accessible for all. (Alex Stutzman is a PhD student in the Genetics and Molecular Biology curriculum in the UNC-CH School of Medicine.)
