Such gifts help to provide the best possible education and training for our students and postdoctoral fellows and supports the intellectual community and work of our faculty. Below are number of ways to partner with us.<\/p>\n<h2>Endowed Professorships<\/h2>\n<p>Endowed Professorships are among the most important and impactful investments to higher education, a vital tool for recruiting and retaining renowned faculty scholars and researchers. Endowed positions honor and support the work of truly outstanding faculty members and in turn makes the Department and University stronger. Funding and supporting an endowed professorship marks a donor\u2019s permanent and meaningful influence in the future the Department. To recognize a donor\u2019s support of the Department\u2019s intellectual leaders and resources, naming opportunities for all professorships are available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Areas of Need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Biochemistry and Biophysics Distinguished Professorship. <\/b>Aimed at providing flexibility to recruit or retain a distinguished faculty scholar in the biochemical and biophysical sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Teaching and Mentoring Excellence Distinguished Professorship. <\/b>Aimed to recruit or recognize distinguished faculty scholars who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in teaching and mentoring in the biochemical and biophysical sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Pre and Postdoctoral Fellowships<\/h2>\n<p>Fellowships to support the Department\u2019s pre and postdoctoral trainees are one of the most effective methods to contribute to the overall quality and breadth of training and development our graduate students and postdoctoral fellows receive. A $50,000 fellowship will fund a pre or postdoctoral fellow for one year, typically providing support for stipend\/salary, travel grants, memberships into scientific societies, and additional resources for research efforts. Donors may choose to fund a fellowship for any period of time from one year or through the full training period of a fellow (typically 5-6 years). To recognize a donor\u2019s investment into the career development of our trainees, naming opportunities for fellowships are also available.<\/p>\n<h2>Research Support<\/h2>\n<p>Research in our department is a driving vehicle in growing the quality and renown of our graduate program. Unrestricted funds in any amount are welcome to enhance and support the research and educational activities of our faculty and trainees. Gifts may be designated to individuals or groups affiliated with the Department.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Don\u2019t see an opportunity aimed or structured for your giving needs?
