Dokholyan lab alumni a 2019 photo\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reed Jacob (2017, Dokholyan lab) accepted a position earlier this month, as a Computational Biochemist at UPL. Dr. Jacobs is responsible for adding computational research capabilities to their New AgTech division.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11732 size-thumbnail alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/795\/2019\/11\/Deepak-Jha_19-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"Deepak Jha_alumni\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Deepak Jha (2014) is a postdoc with Prof. George Daley, who is the current Dean of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and professor of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed?term=((Deepak%20Jha%20AND%20Chapel%20Hill%20%5BAffiliation%5D))%20OR%20(Jha%20AND%20Daley\">See Deepak\u2019s latest publications here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11734 size-thumbnail alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/795\/2019\/11\/Lydia-Morrison_07-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Lydia Morrison_07\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lydia Ann Morrison (2007) currently manages social media for New England Biolabs. She also hosts a science-focused podcast called \u201cLessons from Lab and Life\u201d, and oversees Labconscious.com, a blog devoted to green practices in the laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-11738 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/795\/2019\/11\/Srinivas-Ramachandran-Alumni-member-with-his-lab-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"Ramachandran lab\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/srinivas-ramachandran-48941113\/\">Srinivas Ramachandran<\/a> (2011) currently is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He started his own lab in January 2018 and in August his lab their first big grant \u2013 MIRA from NIGMS. Title of the grant: \u201cMAINTENANCE OF CELLULAR MEMORY THROUGH REPLICATION\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11737 size-thumbnail alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/795\/2019\/11\/Shantanu_Sharma_19-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Shantanu_Sharma alumni\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW167055099 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW167055099 BCX8\">Shantanu Sharma (2009) is focused on life sciences AI research applications helping increase US national security. <em>(updated on 8\/25\/25)<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11740 size-thumbnail alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/795\/2019\/11\/Benfeard_Williams_-2019-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"Benfeard_Williams_alumni\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Benfeard Williams (2017) completed a fellowship in the Technology Transfer Center at NCI. He also passed the patent exam to become a registered patent agent and then worked at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich &amp; Rosati as a patent agent where he focused on cancer immunotherapies and medical devices. Benfeard then returned to NCI as a technology transfer manager where he currently works on patents, licensing inventions, and research agreements for labs at NCI, the NIH Clinical Center, and the
