The faculty review committee and The Graduate School commended Hanna and her dissertation committee on the originality and significance of her research. Hanna&#8217;s research project also received the 2020 Horizon Award. The Horizon Awards recognize outstanding graduate student research that directly contributes to the educational, economic, physical, social, or cultural well-being of North Carolina citizens.<\/p>\n<p>On March 6th, 2020 she defended her thesis, &#8220;The Regulation of Tau Pathogenesis in Neurodegeneration.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hanna Trzeciakiewicz, PhD, our recent alumna and former Biochemistry graduate student, was awarded two, not just one, honorable and prestigious UNC awards.
