{"id":15300,"date":"2020-09-02T16:44:59","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T20:44:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/?p=15300"},"modified":"2020-09-02T16:44:59","modified_gmt":"2020-09-02T20:44:59","slug":"new-faculty-support-website-centralizes-key-resources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/news\/new-faculty-support-website-centralizes-key-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"New faculty support website centralizes key resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carolina faculty have a new\u00a0website\u00a0that brings together\u00a0resources on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/facultyhub.unc.edu\/teaching\/\">teaching<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/facultyhub.unc.edu\/racism\/\">racism and equity<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/facultyhub.unc.edu\/career\/for-all-faculty\/\">career development<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/facultyhub.unc.edu\/well-being\/\">well-being<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/facultyhub.unc.edu\/\">CV19 Faculty Support Hub<\/a>\u00a0launched Aug. 26 and links directly to other University COVID-19-related resources, such as Carolina Together and its dashboard, the Keep Teaching site and Human Resources.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15302\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 710px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15302 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/biochem\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/795\/2020\/09\/faculty-website-for-unc.jpg\" alt=\"faculty website for unc\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\"><em>The CV19 Faculty Support Hub launched Aug. 26 and links directly to other University COVID-19-related resources, such as Carolina Together and its dashboard, the Keep Teaching site and Human Resources. (Jon Gardiner\/UNC-Chapel Hill)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe were looking for a way to easily reach faculty and connect them to the resources that are available to them on campus,\u201d said Erin Malloy, director of the Center for Faculty Excellence and a professor of psychiatry in the School of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe Carolina faculty have been at the front lines of the response to COVID-19 in so many ways,\u201d Malloy said. \u201cWe have faculty caring for COVID patients and addressing the heightened health needs. Our educators have transformed teaching and learning to remote practices. Our researchers have led with our response and understanding of COVID-19. And our leaders on campus have had to mobilize a lot of change for their departments and units.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Created\u00a0in\u00a0collaboration with the Center for Faculty Excellence, the Provost\u2019s Office, the Office of Faculty Governance and faculty and staff, the\u00a0hub will be updated regularly by the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/facultygov.unc.edu\/committees\/appointed-committees\/faculty-welfare-committee\/\">Faculty Welfare Committee<\/a>\u202fwith input from the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/facultygov.unc.edu\/committees\/appointed-committees\/community-and-diversity-committee\/\">Committee on Community and Diversity.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The hub is designed to connect faculty with other resources on campus, Malloy said. Information about campus operations is available on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/carolinatogether.unc.edu\/\">Carolina Together<\/a>\u00a0website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The site is the latest addition to online resources for faculty. The Keep Teaching\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/keepteaching.unc.edu\/\">site<\/a>\u00a0is updated daily with new content and announcements.
