(Grant Halverson \u201993)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>News provided by the Carolina Alumni Review &#8211; March 8, 2021<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A celebration for the class of 2020 \u2014 whose Commencement was diminished by the COVID-19 pandemic \u2014 is scheduled for October 9-10, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz told the class members last week that the majority of respondents to a survey did not want a 2020 Commencement experience to be packaged with that of the class of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>And the University said: We hear you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe promise that your weekend this fall \u2014 a historic first on our campus \u2014 will be worth the long wait you have endured for one more special Carolina experience with your classmates, families and loved ones,\u201d Guskiewicz said.<\/p>\n<p>Among the festivities are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Special recognition throughout the football game vs. Florida State \u2014 the game will be dedicated to the class;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A football watch-party experience (a limited number of game tickets will be made available);<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The GAA\u2019s traditional Bell Tower Climb;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A special Taste of Chapel Hill food truck dine-around;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The GAA\u2019s traditional Champagne Toast;
