\"Nikea<\/p>\n

Dr. Nikea Pittman, a postdoctoral fellow in\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Saskia Neher\u2019s lab<\/a>, was selected as a 2021 Burroughs Wellcome Fund PDEP awardee. The\u00a0Postdoctoral Diversity Enrichment Program (PDEP) provides a total of $60,000 over three years to support career development activities for underrepresented minority postdoctoral fellows to help them advance to stellar careers in biomedical or medical research.<\/p>\n

\n

This week, Dr. Pittman was introduced at the Burroughs Wellcome Fund New Awardees Networking Meeting. She\u00a0presented her research in a poster presentation entitled, Structural characterization of proteins involved in Reactive Chlorine Stress in\u00a0Escherichia coli.<\/i>\u00a0Awardees across the Burroughs Wellcome Fund\u00a0Career Awards for Medical Sciences (CAMS), Next Gen Pregnancy Initiative (NGP), Career Awards at the Scientific Interface (CASI), Investigators in the Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease (PATH), \u00a0Innovation in Regulatory Science (IRSA), and\u00a0Postdoctoral Diversity Enrichment Program (PDEP) were in attendance.<\/p>\n
