The Dean\u2019s Performance Awards honor UNC School of Medicine staff members whose exemplary work has contributed to UNC achieving its vision of becoming the nation\u2019s leading public school of medicine.<\/p>\n

The awards span six categories aligned with the School of Medicine\u2019s strategic plan, Forward Together: research, service, education, faculty, diversity, and administrative infrastructure. The Committee acknowledges and thanks to the other 2020 nominees for their extraordinary efforts this year.<\/p>\n

Jesse Arp is a Post-Awards Administrator for Biochemistry and Biophysics. Congratulations to our high-performing employee!<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

UNC School of Medicine<\/h2>\n

First established in 1879 and expanded to a four-year program in 1952, the UNC School of Medicine has a long tradition as one of the nation\u2019s leading medical schools. The School of Medicine is currently ranked 1st in primary care and 23rd in research by U.S. News and World Report. The school\u2019s 1,700 faculty members provide clinical services in the inpatient units at UNC Hospitals and the outpatient clinics on UNC campus while training the next generation of health care professionals. The school has campuses in Asheville, Charlotte, and Wilmington as well.<\/p>\n

The UNC School of Medicine Human Resources Office is responsible for personnel functions for over 5,466 faculty and non-faculty employees, 2,302 permanent and temporary staff, and 1,200 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.<\/p>\n
