The first inaugural UNC Biophysics Field Day<\/strong>, an afternoon of friendly competition to foster community among the Molecular and Cellular Biophysics students and faculty, was a huge success!<\/p>\n

On Friday, May 20, 2022, the biophysics cohorts and faculty faced off in several rounds of science-themed challenges ranging from lab coat relays to serological pipette javelin. Photos of various challenges can be found below. The competition remained close<\/p>\n

until a victory in the final challenge declared the fourth-year team the victors!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

During the event, each cohort dressed up in matching shirts. The first-year cohort (pink), second (yellow), third (green), fourth (blue), and fifth (purple) year cohorts at the end of the day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This student-organized event was led by biophysics students Amelia McCue, Odessa Goudy, Gage Leighton, Nick Randolph, Emily Beard, and Xavier Bonner and facilitated by our awesome student services manager, Holly Shepherd. This exciting afternoon of activities would not have been possible without the help of our department faculty and administrators Wolfgang Bergmeier, Jill Dowen, Holly Shepherd, Brian Strahl, and Steven Torchio, our HR Consultant. Thank you to all of the organizers and participants!<\/p>\n
