Greg G. Wang, PhD,<\/a> an associate professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics and joint Pharmacology\u00a0at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and member of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, won the 2022 ASBMB Young Investigator Award<\/a>, which recognizes outstanding research contributions to biochemistry and molecular biology and contributions to the community of scientists. Wang\u2019s lab studies how chromatin modification and epigenetic modifications contribute to gene regulation and cancer development.<\/p>\n

ASBMB Young Investigator Award (formerly the ASBMB\/Schering\u2013Plough Research Institute Award)\u00a0recognizes outstanding research contributions to biochemistry and molecular biology.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The award consists of a plaque, $5,000, transportation and expenses to present a lecture at the ASBMB annual meeting.<\/p>\n

ASBMB names 2022 award winners<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Wang will give a talk about his work at the society\u2019s 2022 annual meeting, which was held in conjunction with the Experimental Biology conference April 2-5, 2022 in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
