The Committee acknowledges and thanks to the other 2020 nominees for their extraordinary efforts this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carolyn M. Clabo is the Director of Communications and Development for Biochemistry and Biophysics. Clabo, Director of Communications &amp; Development<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nomination:<em> &#8220;Carolyn Clabo is a very dedicated, patient and resilient employee in taking over the maintenance and updating of our website and social media sites. She participates in learning about new and innovative means to distribute news, up to date information about our curriculum for our graduate program, recognition of outstanding faculty and student awards.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>She continues to seek new applications to further the news and happenings within the department. Our website is the best that it ever has been due to the hard work, dedication, and persistence of our Director of Communications. Carolyn coordinates these efforts to make sure that communications given by the department are accurate and up to date. She works well with all members of the department and other various areas within the School of Medicine. The School of Medicine is currently ranked 1st in primary care and 23rd in research by U.S. News and World Report. The school\u2019s 1,700 faculty members provide clinical services in the inpatient units at UNC Hospitals and the outpatient clinics on UNC campus while training the next generation of health care professionals. The school has campuses in Asheville, Charlotte, and Wilmington as well.<\/p>\n<p>The UNC School of Medicine Human Resources Office is responsible for personnel functions for over 5,466 faculty and non-faculty employees, 2,302 permanent and temporary staff, and 1,200 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.<\/p>\n<h2>UNC Health<\/h2>\n<p>UNC Health with a staff of more than 7,100 employees (which includes 1,100 medical staff and 780 resident physicians) UNC Hospitals and clinics strive to provide high-quality patient care, to educate health care professionals, to advance research, and to provide community service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carolyn M.
