The RNA Discovery Center (RDC) launched in 2022 is directed by Chad Pecot, MD, and co-directed by Bill <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW144748394 BCX8\">Marzluff<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">, PhD, Qi Zhang, PhD, Silvia Ramos, PhD, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW144748394 BCX8\">Keriayn<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\"> Sm<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">ith, PhD, and Mauro Calabrese, PhD, and boasts <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">numerous<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\"> leaders in the field with over 40 faculty. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">The Center continues to expand, most recently welcoming its newest member, Prof. Joanna Kovalski,<span class=\"TextRun SCXW158689869 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW158689869 BCX8\">who will join<\/span><\/span> the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics (BCBP) in January 2026.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\"> The RDC is a hub for RNA research, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">supporting graduate and postdoctoral training, fostering acade<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">mic and industrial collaborations, and driving large-scale funding initiatives. This year, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">the RDC, BCBP, SOM, and SOP jointly launched <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">the RNA-targeted Innovation in Drug Exploration <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">(RIDE) <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW144748394 BCX8\">initiative, led by Qi Zhang, PhD, to accelerate RNA-focused therapeutic discovery.
