He chose to pursue PhD research because he values the freedom academia provides to follow his interests and structure his research around what matters most to him. This is also why he picked the Biophysics department at UNC; after rotating in several departments through the BBSP, he felt that the PIs in biophysics were the most flexible in both the research questions they asked and the lab techniques they used.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Interests\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In his free time, Rohan enjoys rock climbing both indoors and outdoors.
