The maximum award amount is $5,000 and eligible faculty applicants are tenure or tenure-track, hold research or clinical appointments, adjunct, lecturers, or instructors. Dr. Daniel Isom is a Research Assistant Professor of Biochemistry &amp; Biophysics who was awarded a<span> <\/span><a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/research.unc.edu\/offices\/vice-chancellor\/programs-projects-services\/DATA_RES_VCRED_GRANTS\" style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 153); background-color: transparent; text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 1px dotted rgb(108, 112, 120); \" target=\"_blank\">URC Research grant<\/a><span> <\/span>to support his research project on G proteins. URC research grants are often considered a stepping stone to extramural support and Dr. Isom may use his award amount for costs such as collecting pilot data, research-related travel, and research equipment or supplies.
