The title of her dissertation is <i>\u201c<\/i><i>Biochemical Characterization of Lipoprotein Lipase.\u201c<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left; \"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); \">Cassandra earned her B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). She joined UNC immediately after receiving her undergraduate degree and has been completing her doctoral training in the lab of Saskia Neher, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics. During her time at UNC, Cassandra has been supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program, National Science Foundation Global Research Opportunities Worldwide, Merchant Scholarships from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship from UNC\u2019s Graduate School. In addition to research, Cassandra is passionate about science outreach and service; she served as a graduate representative from the department to the UNC Graduate and Professional Student Federation and has an active role in numerous committees for the department.
