He will set up his new research lab in September 2014. Currently, he is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Aziz Sancar, Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics. He has garnered numerous honors and awards since his time at UNC and most notably as a recipient of a K99 Pathway to Independence Award which will assist in fostering his career development. <br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); \">Dr. Gaddameedhi\u2019s research will focus on two areas: 1) Understanding the role of circadian rhythm in skin biology and environmental melanomagenesis, and 2) the application of circadian clock-disrupted genetic mouse models and human tissue samples that will guide the determinations of timing of cellular sensitivity to radiation treatment and anti-cancer therapeutics (chronotherapy).
