Our research is driven by a central question: how do viral infections influence coagulation and inflammation, and what determines when these responses protect life\u2014or threaten it?<\/p>\n<p>We investigate the molecular mechanisms linking viral infections, such as influenza A and viral myocarditis, to tissue factor (TF) expression, thrombosis, and immune signaling. By exploring how TF and thrombin-dependent pathways\u2014particularly via protease-activated receptors like PAR4\u2014shape disease outcomes, we aim to better understand both the protective and harmful roles of the body\u2019s response to infection.<\/p>\n<p>Our mission is to uncover how to preserve the life-supporting functions of coagulation while limiting its pathological consequences.
