The grant, R01HL151984, which was awarded four years of funding is titled An integrated computational and experimental approach to understanding the hemostatic response during treatment of bleeding. These studies represent a collaboration between experts in mathematical modeling, Karin Leiderman (lead PI) of the Colorado School of Mines and Aaron Fogelson of the University of Utah, and experimentalists, Dougald Monroe of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Keith Neeves of the University of Colorado in Denver. The goal is to create better mathematical models to guide development of antithrombotics or new therapeutics for bleeding.
