9.4T MRI system expected to be operational by the end of February 2016.
As many of you know, our 9.4T MRI system has been down for some time while undergoing extensive repairs. The manufacturer is making progress and we anticipate having the instrument available for regular usage sometime at the end of February. We have been communicating with the vendor and trying to recover the system as soon as possible. As for now, 5000 liters of liquid nitrogen to cool down the magnet are expected to be delivered on February 1st, and another 500 liters of liquid helium to be delivered the following monday. Cryogen filling and testing procedures have been scheduled accordingly. We will notify everyone when the repairs are complete and we are ready to resume normal MR scheduling. Thank you for being patient and understanding with us as we have been going through these repairs. We apologize for such a long downtime which may have caused significant impact on your study.
