On January 23, 2019, Dr. David Weber presented<\/a> at the UNC School of Medicine Grand Rounds on the continuing threat of multidrug resistant pathogens. Dr. Weber\u2019s research interests include hospital-associated (nosocomial) infections especially antibiotic-resistant pathogens, surveillance, disinfection and sterilization, nosocomial pneumonia, hand hygiene, and outbreak investigations. Other research interests include new and emerging infectious diseases, infections in child care centers, tuberculosis, and bioterrorist agents. His presentation may be viewed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Through his roles as medical director of hospital epidemiology and associate chief medical officer of UNC Health Care, Dr. Weber works to prevent hospital-acquired infections in patients and staff at UNC Hospitals.\u00a0 He is the Chair of UNC Hospitals\u2019 Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee. Standing Orders Committee, and Anti-Infectives Subcommittee.\u00a0 He is a Chair of the UNC IRB.\u00a0 He is the Medical Director of the UNC Statewide Program in Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE) and NC Department of Health\u2019s TB Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
