Areas of Interest
My research interests are focused on the study of small GTPases in endothelial cells; in particular, the signaling events involving a GTPase called Rap1 that lead to junctional modulation, regulation of transendothelial migration of leukocytes, and permeability. My research has implications relating to inflammation in human diseases such as autoimmunity and atherosclerosis, as well as regulation of endothelial barrier function as it relates to conditions of hyper-permeability.
