Congratulations to the Bahnson Lab,  for publishing a paper, titled “ Antioxidant Response Activating nanoParticles (ARAPas) localize to atherosclerotic plaque and locally activate the Nrf2 pathway.”

In this work lead by postdoctoral fellow Sophie Maiocchi, PhD they describe the synthesis and characterization of novel nanoparticles termed Antioxidant Response Activating nanoParticles (ARAPas) that encapsulate with high efficiency the Nrf2 activator bardoxolone methyl. The ARAPas target sites of atherosclerotic plaque and activate Nrf2 in the aortic arch. The work and Dr. Bahnson will be featured in the “Emerging Investigator” series of Biomaterials Science. https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2022/bm/d1bm01421h
