We are pleased to extend a warm welcome to a new member of our faculty.\u00a0 Dr. Meghan Rebuli joins us as an Assistant Professor in the Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma and Lung Biology (CEMALB), the Curriculum in Toxicology and Environmental Medicine (CiTEM) and the Department of Pediatrics, Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology Division, UNC School of Medicine.\u00a0 Dr. Rebuli holds a PhD from North Carolina State University, where she studied neuroendocrine toxicology, and she completed postdoctoral training at UNC in respiratory toxicology.\u00a0 Her current research focuses on sex differences in respiratory toxicology, using clinical and translational models and exposures to inhaled toxicants including: e-cigarettes, cigarettes, wood smoke, and ozone. Dr. Rebuli will serve as a course director and lecturer in the CiTEM and on the UNC Institutional Review Board, overseeing human study ethics. She is also an active member of multiple international societies, where she has taken on early career researcher leadership roles, including: Society of Toxicology, American Thoracic Society, and the Organization for the Study of Sex Differences. \u00a0She is a well-published and award winning scientist with a recent Paper of the Year award from the Society of Toxicology\u2019s Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section for her paper on wood smoke and influenza exposure in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.\u00a0 We\u2019re excited to welcome her to CEMALB and see where her research leads.\u00a0 Welcome Dr. Rebuli!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
