UNC CFAR’s Office of Community Engagement manager, Alicia Diggs, MPH, has been featured on the cover of POZ magazine and interviewed on her participation in the REPRIEVE Study. The Randomized Trial to Prevent Vascular Events in HIV (REPRIEVE) was a randomized trial studying the heart health of participants living with HIV. The REPRIEVE study demonstrated that women living with HIV face a higher risk for adverse cardiovascular events than HIV-negative women.
In her journey and fueled by her passion to enhance healthcare for women and people of color, Diggs is actively working to challenge and reform the current norms contributing to racial and gender disparities within the American healthcare system.
