Sarah Rutstein, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on implementation science, health economics, and global HIV prevention and treatment, with a particular emphasis on evaluating the cost-effectiveness and population impact of evidence-based HIV treatment and prevention interventions. She leads multidisciplinary research that integrates economic evaluation with implementation science to inform policy and optimize resource allocation for HIV programs, particularly in resource-limited settings. Her work spans HIV testing, antiretroviral therapy delivery, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), differentiated service delivery, and innovative models of care, with the goal of identifying strategies that maximize health impact while ensuring efficient use of limited resources.
