Hanoi Medical University honored Dr. Vivian Go and Dr. William (Bill) Miller as honorary professors during a formal ceremony on June 20, recognizing their exceptional contributions to training, scientific research, and international collaboration with Vietnam over the past decade.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Go, the SBIS Core Director and Dr. Miller, the Developmental Core Director at the UNC Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) \u00a0lead major research initiatives through UNC Project-Vietnam, a program of the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases. Their work focuses on HIV prevention and care for people living with HIV, advancing clinical research and supporting public health infrastructure in Vietnam.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Vivian Go, PhD, professor of health behavior at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and country director for UNC Project-Vietnam, has been engaged with Vietnam since 2001. Her research explores the intersection of HIV and co-morbidities such as mental health and opioid use disorders, along with stigma and discrimination among key populations including people who inject drugs and men who have sex with men. She also directs the Institute\u2019s Clinical Research Site in Vietnam.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Bill Miller, PhD, professor of epidemiology at Gillings, is an expert in infectious diseases, HIV\/AIDS, and addiction, with over 30 years of experience.
