Criteria for membership. There are two categories of membership – full and associate.

Full member requirements: 1) independent peer-reviewed federal funding; 2) research related to the theme of the CGIBD. Investigators at any of the three local Universities – UNC, NCSU, Duke – are eligible for membership.

Associate members are individuals who conduct research in our theme area but who are not independently funded from a federal source. Associate members receive the same benefits as members with higher priority and lower rates for core use. We offer the low member rates to Associate Members to help them in their path to independent funding. We expect Associate Members to be engaged in Center Activities.

P/F awardees who are not members enjoy full member benefits during the award period and for 2 years.
