He has extensive expertise in conducting investigator-initiated trials and coordinating data and specimen collections in large multicenter approaches and has broadly published in the field of IBD (&gt; 260 peer-reviewed articles). He is the Director of the UNC Multidisciplinary IBD Center. In this role, he is involved in coordinating the clinical care of the patients and the clinical IBD research, including &gt; 20 currently ongoing IBD clinical trials and IBD registries at UNC. He has been the Principal or Co- investigator of several investigator-initiated clinical studies such as MERIT-UC, DINE-CD and has supported or initiated other investigator-initiated studies such as PIANO, PUCCINI, LOGIC, and the PROP-RD registries.
