Her research applies novel sequencing and bioinformatic technologies in elucidating mechanisms of host-microbiome interactions underlying infections and immunologic complications such as graft-versus-host disease in patients with cancer.<br \/>\nShe developed mastery in gut microbiome research, biorepository development, and clinical trial in the lab of Ami Bhatt at Stanford. She transitioned to a faculty position at UNC in 2019, seeking research guidance from a multi-disciplinary team of mentors and collaborators with expertise in microbiology and the microbiome, gastrointestinal diseases, hematology and oncology, genomics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and statistics. She has been mentored by CGIBD members Anthony Fodor and Casey Theriot.
