He received formal public health training (MPH from St. Louis University). He is currently involved in clinical research on cirrhosis, transplant outcomes, cirrhosis and drug induced liver injury. Within the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network he serves as co-chair of the causality (diagnosis) committee. The group has published a number of papers on the diagnosis, management and outcomes of drug induced liver injury.
