March 13, 2021 – Giselle Corbie-Smith, MD, MSc, CHER Director, appeared on this past Saturday’s “On The Record” episode with Lena Tillett. Dr. Corbie-Smith appeared on the show along with Dr. Deepak Kumar from North Carolina Central University and Dr. Robin Peace from UNC Health Southeastern.
Dr. Corbie-Smith discusses coining the term “vaccine deliberation” as a category of hesitancy with the COVID-19 vaccine, describing it as a “slow yes” as black and brown communities experience a health system “that is yet to demonstrate that they value their lives as highly as the lives of other populations.”
