In a recent interview, Tonia Poteat spoke with Bakita Kasadha of TheBodyPro about the possible impacts of the June 24, 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision.

Poteat shared her initial reaction to the ruling and shared insights about the possible impacts on multiple groups, including transgender people and healthcare providers. Asked what actions providers can take to support patients, Poteat said, “Our minimal responsibility will be to know what resources are available for people.”

She added that providers “are usually well resourced” and shared a list of ways to use those resources: “I can donate money. I can donate time. I can give of myself to this process of trying to create a place where people have more options available to them than they would if I didn’t contribute.”
