Research Projects

The UNC Center for Health Equity Research brings researchers from different disciplines and population focus together to create transcendent research, methods, and practical interventions to promote health equity for socially at-risk populations.

The Center includes NIH, UNC Health Campus, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and other funding agencies to improve the health and well-being of rural communities.

  • We engage in community-based participatory research (CBPR) and implement this knowledge and research in our daily work with rural communities.
  • We focus on centering community voices, identified needs, and the numerous assets each community holds, by building strong ties with community members and the organizations they serve.
