28th Annual National Health Equity Research Webcast

September 16, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Three images, of a test tube, a protest and a magma lake, are above a Carolina Blue banner. The banner says "Environmental Justice: The Science, the people, the politics" in white letters.

The UNC Center for Health Equity Research (CHER) is proud to sponsor the National Health Equity Research Webcast.

The 2022 theme is “Environmental Justice: The Science, the People, the Politics.” Hear from national leaders and ask questions during a moderated question-and-answer session.

This year’s expert panelists are:

  • Ryan E. Emanuel, Ph.D., associate professor of hydrology, Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University
  • Naeema Muhammad, senior adviser, North Carolina Environmental Justice Network
  • Kyle Whyte, Ph.D., George Willis Pack Professor, School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan

Sherry White-Williamson, J.D., environmental justice policy director at the North Carolina Conservation Network, will moderate the discussion. The Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill hosts the webcast each year. Registration is free and open to the public.
