{"id":3244,"date":"2019-05-22T13:20:01","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T17:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/childrensresearch\/?page_id=3244"},"modified":"2023-06-19T14:10:40","modified_gmt":"2023-06-19T18:10:40","slug":"neonatal-perinatal-medicine","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/childrensresearch\/research\/areas-of-research\/neonatal-perinatal-medicine\/","title":{"rendered":"Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"department-intro\"><div class=\"wc-theme-box\"><h1>Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine\n             <\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<h4>About Our Research<\/h4>\n<p>Research efforts within the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine include projects involving low birth weight, necrotizing enterocolitis, preterm infants, quality improvements within Neonatal Intensive Care Units, pharmacology in infants and neonates, neurodevelopmental disabilities, neonatal epidemiology, long term outcomes of premature infants, prevention of premature labor and birth, patent ductus arteriosus, infant malnutrition and growth stunting, lung disease of prematurity, healthcare initiatives in low and middle income countries and many more.<\/p>\n<p>Our faculty collaborates in these projects with colleagues across campus, including researchers working throughout the School of Medicine, the Carolina Population Center, the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, and the Gillings School of Global Public Health.
