In collaboration with the University of North Carolina Down Syndrome Program, the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) launched an interdisciplinary Down Syndrome Evaluation and Consultation (DSEC) clinic to provide psychological evaluation and consultation services for individuals with Down syndrome and their families across the lifespan. The DSEC clinic is led by Rebecca Grzadzinski, PhD, Heather Hazlett, PhD, Chandler Knott, PhD, and Natalie Krohl, NP, and focuses on comprehensive autism evaluation and integrated medication and behavioral management consultation designed to promote and support positive behavior in individuals with Down syndrome and co-occurring behavioral difficulties. As part of NC-LEND, the CIDD supports the involvement of trainees at various levels including postdoctoral fellows, psychology interns, and psychology practicum students in DSEC clinical services, contributing to specialized workforce development in behavioral healthcare for individuals with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
