Dr. Thomas is an internal medicine physician interested in the intersection of medicine, information technology and data-driven healthcare solutions. Dr. Thomas became interested in clinical informatics through his work as a hospitalist at Rush University where he began to appreciate the role of clinical decision support systems and data analytics and its use in his daily workflow. He eventually went on to complete his MBA and became interested in Lean healthcare.<\/p>\n
As an academic hospitalist, Dr. Thomas worked on projects to help improve workflows and implement his lean medicine principles within his group. He also studied fast-and-frugal clinical decision pathways and their effect on clinical outcomes in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 as well as other hospital medicine projects. Dr. Thomas also served as a Unit Medical director for the Oncology floor, providing clinical oversight and guidance to the healthcare team and fostering effective interdisciplinary communication and cooperation.<\/p>\n
