DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, June 18\, 2024\, 12:00 – 1:30 pm ET\nOffice hour: June 25\, 2024\, 12:00 – 1:00 pm ET \nREGISTER HERE \nIn response to the significant interest in the recent AI in Imaging Cores Town Hall\, ABRF is excited to announce a new series: AI & Bioimaging Community Discussions. \nThese new online meetings will cover the ABCs of AI in bioimaging\, starting with an introduction to AI\, to image acquisition and analysis\, to software and developing your own models. \nThe new meetings will be held monthly (except August) on a Tuesday from 12:00 – 1:30 pm ET. The following Tuesday\, there will be a one hour “office hour” for follow up questions/discussions. SUMMARY:Instrumentation Grant Panel for Core Facilities
DESCRIPTION:We will be holding a panel discussion on October 12\, 2023 to discuss several of the extramural grants that can be used to replace or add instrumentation to cores. This panel will be led by subject matter experts: peer core directors who have successfully applied for grants or who have sat on study sections to evaluate these grants.\n\nOur panelists will be:\n\n\nDr. Chun Hsing (Josh) Chen (Department of Chemistry X-Ray Core Facility) discussing the NSF MRI\nDr. Pablo Airel (Microscopy Services Laboratory) discussing the NIH S10 mechanism\nDr. Brandie Ehrmann (ATOMS Core – Previously the Department of Chemistry Mass Spectrometry Core)    discussing the DoD DURIP program and working with faculty members who want to place instrumentation in cores\nDr. Ashutosh (Ash) Tripathy (Macromolecular Interactions Facility) discussing the NCBC IIG grant\nDr. Paul Maddox (Associate Director\, Department of Biology; William Burwell Harrison Scholar) discussing NIH study sections\n\n\n\nIf you are considering applying for an extramural instrumentation grant\, we encourage you to attend. If you are aware of faculty who are interested in learning more about instrumentation grants and how to partner with a core facility to obtain an instrument\, please feel free to forward.
