{"id":4805,"date":"2022-08-15T15:04:26","date_gmt":"2022-08-15T19:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/corefacilities\/?page_id=4805"},"modified":"2025-12-04T10:25:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T15:25:07","slug":"fall-rfa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/corefacilities\/fall-rfa\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall RFA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><h2 class=\"section-som\"><span>Core Facilities Advocacy Committee (CFAC) Fall 2025 RFA<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2\n\t         id=\"bookmark\"\n\t         class=\"icon center fa-bookmark\">General Information<\/h2>\n<h4>This RFA cycle will open for submissions <strong>August 11, 2025<\/strong>\u00a0and close <strong>September 12, 2025 at 11:59 pm.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is a general RFA; requests for capital equipment, institutional matching funds for external instrumentation grants, operational needs, and methods\/technological development will all be considered.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Requests are encouraged that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>add new technology or instrumentation that will serve a group of faculty<\/li>\n<li>upgrade heavily used technology<\/li>\n<li>replace aging technology<\/li>\n<li>develop new methodologies<\/li>\n<li>develop or optimize new services within the core facility to provide proof of concept and troubleshooting prior to launch as a core service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funding requests for institutional matching funds for an external instrumentation grant will be evaluated early. Funding decisions will be communicated prior to September 20th, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>CFAC is especially interested in new technology or methodology which will bring cutting-edge experimental capabilities to UNC that are or will be of benefit to many investigators, or that will help in obtaining external funding. Funding requests must be submitted by a core facility but are recommended to include input and letters of support from an investigator interested in collaborating with the core.<\/p>\n<p>CFAC does not routinely fund requests above $50,000<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2\n\t         id=\"bookmark\"\n\t         class=\"icon center fa-bookmark\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n<i class=\" glyphicon glyphicon-ok \" style=\"color:#000000;\"><\/i> Core director submitted an Annual Planning Survey to the Office of Research Technologies and has a history of submitted surveys. For instructions to submit a survey please contact <a href=\"mailto:corefacilities@med.unc.edu\"><strong>corefacilities@med.unc.edu<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<i class=\" glyphicon glyphicon-ok \" style=\"color:#000000;\"><\/i> Core facilities must have or be undergoing a rate review approval through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
