Welcome to the Mac-In-Fac!<\/h2>\n

The Macromolecular Interactions Facility (UNC folks fondly call it the\u00a0Mac-In-Fac<\/strong>) is a core facility of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It provides instrumentation and resources for biophysical characterization of biological macromolecules and their interactions with ligands.\u00a0Core instrumentation<\/a><\/u> include: surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based and bio-layer interferometry (BLI)-based biosensors; fully-automated isothermal titration calorimeters (ITCs); a circular dichroism (CD) spectropolarimeter; static and dynamic light scattering instruments; a fluorescence microplate reader; a nanoDSF (nano-differential scanning fluorimeter), and a microscale thermophoresis (MST) instrument.<\/p>\n

We welcome researchers from other academic institutions and biotech companies. Researchers from Triangle-based academic institutions and companies can contact the Director directly for using our equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We obtain on-going support from the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center through the University Cancer Research Fund and the Cancer Center Support Grant.
