The Biomolecular NMR Lab is equipped with high field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers which enable superior levels of sensitivity and resolution. The spectrometers are equipped with cryoprobes that increase signal-to-noise ratio and allow NMR on samples of low concentration or faster acquisition of data. We are happy to work with users from outside UNCCH to support their research needs. Spectrometer time is available for trained users for an hourly fee. The lab manager trains new users, consults with prospective users to determine whether NMR will be useful in their research, and helps users design an experimental plan to obtain the information they need. The manager also operates the spectrometer for users whose experiments do not justify the time and expense of individual training. UNC Biomolecular NMR Lab offers a variety of services to academic and industrial users. New services to the core are Fragment-based Drug Discovery, using the cores ‘In-House’ 19F and 1H fragment libraries, and metabolomics.

We obtain on-going support from the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center through the University Cancer Research Fund and the Cancer Center Support Grant.
